What if Jesus were alive today...
A famous person once said that if Jesus were alive today, we would not kill him but rather take him to dinner, hear what he had to say and make fun of him.
Does that sound about right?
Does that sound about right?

After laughing at him, Jesus would turn that person into a cockroach.

Not a very Christian thing to do...

To deal with this seriously, I would still say it depends on who was taking him out to dinner. We're it an atheist, he would likely not even get the dinner invitation. Were it an elitist, one of the intelligentsia who think they know it all, that scenario would be a real possibility. Were it a member of the mainstream media, he'd likely be crucified, but only in the pages of newspapers. Were it the average Joe from one of the flyover states, I should think Jesus would get not only a fair hearing, but the utmost respect.
Now, if you mean our increasingly secular society in general, taking it as a whole, he'd do well in the flyover states, and poorly in the big cities.
Don't know if any of this is responsive to your post, but in lieu of clarification, that's the best I can do.

Then you have to throw in those of different religions.

My reaction would depend on whether he could save me a few $ on drinks and turn the water into wine.
