Re: Super Bowl Baby!
I disagree. Seeing as I'm a Green Bay fan, I didn't care who got in from the AFC. But I'm actually happy it's Pittsburgh. There is so much football history between Green Bay and Pittsburgh franchises. It's football in its purest form.
And it's only fitting that the game be played in Dallas.

I was disappointed at the losses by the top teams during the playoffs. I hate NE and wanted them to go so I could watch them lose again.

Pittsburgh might win. But it won't be by 14.
Defense - Pittsburgh was ranked number one. Green Bay was ranked number two. I'll give the edge to Pittsburgh
Offense - Ben has proven himself in the playoffs (and other Super Bowls). I will definitely give him that. But Aaron was the best QB this past season. I give the edge to GB though as Pitt doesn't have a running game.
Coach - It's a push. I like McCarthy but whats-his-name is also a good one.
props - The Terrible Towel is cool, but there's nothing like wearing a 20-pound slab of cheddar on your head.
Green Bay 37
Pittsburgh 31

Re: Super Bowl Baby!
A man had 50 yard line tickets for the Super Bowl. As he sat down, he noticed that the seat next to him was empty. He asked the man on the other side of the empty seat whether anyone was sitting there.
"No," the man replied. "The seat is empty."
"This is incredible," said the first man. "Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the world and not use it?"
The second man replied, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This will be the first Super bowl we haven't been together since we got married in 1967."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. But couldn't you find someone else -- a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?"
The man shook his head. "No, they're all at the funeral."
"No," the man replied. "The seat is empty."

Why are you a GB fan? You're not from Wisconsin.
Go Vikings/Cowboys!

Re: Super Bowl Baby!
Good question. The simple answer is, like the Cincinnati Bengals when I was about 8 (back in the late 70's), I just began following the team and they began winning and so I stuck with them. Yeah, I was a Bengals fan at the end of the 70's and throughout the 80's when Boomer was QB. Once they went downhill though, they lost me. With GB, it basically began the same way. Around 1989 (long before Brett), I began following them and they won just enough to keep me interested. And of course when Brett came, they started winning a lot more, which kept me supporting them. Even through the Brett drama, I still loved the team. I just hated him. So I'm thrilled now because nobody ever has to talk about him anymore. It's Aaron's team now.TexasBlue wrote:i_luv_miley wrote:We won the Su-u-u-per Bowl! We won the Su-u-u-per Bowl!

My dad has always been a rabid Dallas fan, and growing up I had to listen to him yell at the television every Sunday. I'm sure it rubbed off on me (the wrong way).

I was a Cowboys fan wen I was growing up (Staubach era). I still am. Of course, I like the Vikes.

103,219 people attended the game. The record was 103,985 set at the Rose Bowl in 1980, when the Steelers defeated the L.A. Rams 31-19 in Super Bowl XIV.
