Forgiving God?

Post by TheNextPrez2012 on Thu Jul 15, 2010 12:08 pm

If God is so forgiving then why did he need to sacrifice his son to redeem humanity?
Couldn't he just forgive?
If somebody does something wrong against me, I just forgive...I don't need to kill a family member!

Death is the wages of sin. Like all of us will die, Jesus had to as well. Part of this answer is also posed in your question: sacrifice. What greater sacrifice could God make in order to show His love for us than to give up His only son?

He could have not brought him back to life again.
