I’d be curious to see the numbers of how many people have already voted. I have a sneaking suspicion that early voting numbers are up. This is likely for two reasons. Early voting started in most states around the time of the debates. The debates gave people a reason to vote. Either way, they were in the political mood and ready to weigh in. But more importantly, people are sick and tired of this campaign. It has been one of the longest and most grueling presidential campaigns I can remember. If I’m sick of it, I’m sure average Americans are sick of it. Voting and being done with it gives them an excuse to then tune it all out and move on. Can’t say I blame them.
Question, what would have to happen between now and Election Day to make people really regret casting their vote early? In other words … what would have to happen to make people change their minds? It would have to be bigger than a poor debate performance. After the change in the political landscape after Denver’s debate disaster for Obama, these guys know better and it is unlikely that they will stumble hard enough in a debate to completely rock the race again.

Re: Early Voting
I think early voting is dumb as hell. Let's say that you vote for your guy and then some really bad scandal erupts right before election day? You're fucked. You already voted. Too bad that you wasted your vote on the guy that's now going to lose.
As I said.... dumb.

Re: Early Voting
I think early voting is irresponsible and you cite one good reason for that Tex.
