Praising God Empty Praising God

Post by TheNextPrez2012 Sat Sep 04, 2010 3:01 pm

I don't mind praising God once in a while but if he wants us to praise him for every event in our lives, that does seem a bit too much.

I took a crap...Praise God!
I got fired from my job...Praise God!
My car broke down...Praise God!
I lost my wallet...Praise God!

After a while it does get a bit comical, don't you think?

They do go overboard.

It reminds me of football players here that say that by the grace of God, they won the game.... that he gave them the power to do it. Yeah, right. Like he was sitting there thinking that he better have the other team get their clock cleaned.

People need to decide whether they believe in a God who intervenes constantly in our daily lives or in a God who allows us to do our own thing and let us make our own mistakes. I think the latter is a more sensible view, not to say I believe God doesn't intervene at all, but the daily grind sort of stuff TNP2012 is talking about, I agree, probably not as much. . .

Or you could take that one step further into the god that Einstein believed in, that morality is of the highest importance to man and any supernatural creator cares nothing for us or it.
