Bullying and school districts Empty Bullying and school districts

Why do people insist on suing a school district for not handling a bullying situation? Since when is it the job of the school or the district to be a daycare center for your kid? The school is there for educational purpose not to keep a dossier of all kids mocking other kids.

This seems to be a sign of the times. Back in my day we handled this by just ignoring the bully. These days if there's not a law suit involved, then your not hip to the ways of society.

A school also is responsible for order under it's roof. If bullying is happening on school property, then it's their responsibility.

And schools create the atmosphere in which children learn. If a teacher is ignoring bullying behavior, they are not fulfilling that duty.

Personally, I think we coddle our children far too much these days.

What I did and went through in my youth in the 50's and 60's would have a parent put on death row today.

It's ridiculous the extremes we're going to these days to shield these delicate little flowers from reality.
