Tea Party issues
I'm watching this Rand Paul guy yapping about how he and the rest of the tea party are gonna fix the country.
He pulls out the standard cut spending baloney (which is the only thing all tea party people know how to say).
that alone is not good and his cut spending for education really threw me for a loop! But the crucial thing he said is that he will talk to the other side about issues.
Now apart from that statement sounding like he's a meduim, if he meant talk to the other political side, than that proves that not only is he a politician but he's nothing more than a renamed GOP person (the "other side" being the democrats).
He simply went from GOP to TEA.

Re: Tea Party issues
You say all this but fail to provide the text of what he said. Its hard to sit here and debate this without something to go by.
Rand Paul is a Libertarian.

Re: Tea Party issues
His dad is a Republican (Ron Paul) but is Libertarian at heart. He even ran in the 1988 (I think it was that year) prez elections as a Libertarian.
One can be a Republican and still be a big govt liberal.
One can be a Democrat and still be a socialist. One can be an Independent and still be a socialist (Bernie Sanders - VT).

Re: Tea Party issues
I know. My comment was directed mainly toward the OP. He seemed to think that Rand Paul is portraying himself as a non-Republican, which isn't the case.

Tea Party representative Rand Paul tells CNN’s Wolf Blitzer he has a lot of respect for Israel but he doesn't believe the U.S. should be funding the Mideast arms race during financial crisis.
By Natasha Mozgovaya
In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer on Wednesday Paul said that “Reuters did a poll, and 71 percent of American people agree with me that when we're short of money, where we can't do the things we need to do in our country, we certainly shouldn't be shipping the money overseas.”

the funniest part is reading many of the comments.. Rand Paul is seen by some anti-Israel guys as a hero.. some even say they will vote for the Tea-Party after reading Rand Paul's stand on Israel.
