Princess Pelosi and the Democrats continue to dwell on the idea that tax increases on the evil rich will solve our economic woes. Bolshoi. If only it were that easy. We are way beyond the point of tax increases. There simply aren’t enough rich people to sustain the big government dreams and schemes that the Democrats desire. Nonetheless, Princess Pelosi continues to push them as a solution. She wrote an article this week, expounding on her dumbfounding liberal logic:

We face two tasks: One is to promote growth and create jobs; the other to reduce the deficit. Our proposal achieves both goals.

Democrats are committed to moving the process forward by asking the wealthiest to pay their fair share through the expiration of tax cuts for those earning over $1 million a year. Democrats are committed to using the significant savings to reduce the deficit.

This “fair share” horsesqueeze needs to come to an end, but our only hope of achieving that is to tattoo it to the next winner or American Idol or run it on the cover of “People” magazine for a few months.

The only reason the Democrats get away with this “fair share” nonsense is because the American people are, with few exceptions, completely ignorant on the topic of who pays how much. You couldn’t find 2 out of 100 people on the street who could tell you that the top 10% of income earners pay way over 70% of all taxes, or that the top 1% of income earners pay almost 40% of all income taxes while earning less than 20% of all earned income. The Democrats prey on this ignorance – ignorance promoted by the government schools they protect and the leftist media – to push this focus group tested “fair share” line. After all, everyone wants to be fair, don’t they?

Here’s the troof ….

In order to cover the deficit by taxing the evil millionaires and billionaires, every one of those 200,000 households would have to be hit with a tax HIKE of $6 million. That’s on top of what they are already paying.

I won’t hold my breath that any member of the ObamaMedia will challenge Princess Pelosi on this fact.

Ah yes, the Dems and the MSM would be out of business if it weren't for our government schools churning out countless numbers of the dumb masses.

Our republic is hanging by a thread.

Taxing Exxon more means you will pay more at the pump. The profit margin for big oil companies like Exxon is about 8 cents for every dollar of revenue. That's less than half the profit margin of other industries like pharmaceuticals. Less than 3% of Exxon’s earnings are from gas sales in the US.

And no matter how many times this leftist ideology has failed throughout history, these jealous leftist myrmidons persist in their cries for something that has NEVER existed and never can, and that is an equality in outcomes - something they euphemistically call "social justice" to hide their true agenda. You see, equality of outcomes can only be accomplished under totalitarian rule - and even then never perfectly or for very long, as history teaches us.

You'd think these leftists would learn after so many failures. Apparently they are not all that bright. I don't know what else to make of it.

Well, it pisses me off. I don't think NP is an idiot, but the rhetoric gets old when it's been debunked over and over. This is why I say many who support left wing policies do so out of envy and nothing more..... cutting their own nose off to spite their own face is how I view it.

You are quite right to view an adherence to leftist ideologies as being based on envy in many cases, particularly amongst rank-and-file Americans.

And it is very much a case of cutting off one's nose to spite their face.

It's scary to think that there are people that don't think "fairness" is a good trait to have. I wonder how many of you teach your kids that being fair is a bad thing...

You just don't get it NP. The world is not "fair," life is not "fair," it never has been and never will be. You could be the nicest, most generous and benevolent person in the the world and be struck down by a heart attack or a stray meteorite and die at 25. Is that "fair?" Nope. But that's life.

Likewise human nature is what it is and what it has always been. Every attempt by mankind to thwart human nature has been met with failure if not by outright disaster.

The closest we as humans have come to harnessing the self interest inherent in human nature for benefit of all was this nation's founding and employment of free market capitalism under the rule of law, not man.

Leftists never learn that cannot legislate, command, order or force human nature out of existence.

How come I get no tax breaks as a single man that doesn't own a home or have any kids? Huh? People who are married get tax breaks (till January). Couples that have kids can claim them. People who own their own home get to claim deductions also.

How's this? When I was out of work for two years, I had to pay taxes on unemployment checks. I also had the option to not pay them. I took the second option. Guess what? In 2010, 3/4 of my savings was wiped out so I could pay my taxes. Fair?????

How come a rich guy who already pays over 60% of his money to federal, state, country and local city taxes has to pay even more to satisfy you?

You're still not getting it NP. Of course what we're doing now is not the best way to run a country. But what we're doing and have been doing for the last 100+ years is the thing that is "not the best way," that is, we've been flirting with socialism since the turn of the last century and have been making government more and more responsible for things that we the citizens and states should be responsible for.

Leftists in federal and state governments have been pushing for the creation of a populace that is dependent on government for ever more of their wherewithal to survive, and at the same time usurping ever more of our personal freedoms.

Government has grown MASSIVELY over that last century, both in size and power over the personal lives of individual citizens. There is scarcely a single human activity that is not controlled in some way by the federal government!

That is NOT the right direction, and yet that is the very direction we are being herded into by leftists whose excuse is that they're doing it "for your own good," as though we were mindless children incapable of taking care of ourselves!

I, for one, am sick and fucking tired of some mentally challenged leftist bureaucrat telling me what is "for my own good!!!"

BUT, if it's merely an objection to companies making profits (and "obscene" profits are every bit as valid and acceptable as any other level - it's supposed to be a free country and as long as the law is not being broken a person should be free to make what ever profits they can), then we are MILES apart.
