Thanks Obama! July’s gas price jump was highest in 12 years!

This is one area where I really don't place much blame on him for. No president can control gas prices. If he decided to do so in some way, it would be an unconstitutional move.

That said, liberals never say shit about this. But when it was Bush............

Well, that's true he can't control them, but he could really help by letting the country drill in federal lands and calling off the EPA on their regulations, but instead tells Brazil "we want to be one of your best customers".

Actually there's a LOT Obama could do to lower the cost of gas. He could slash the mountain of regulations that make sinking a new well or building a new refinery a nearly TWO DECADE paperwork nightmare. He could open up federal lands already slated for oil exploration and production and let the industry develop them, instead of keeping them off limits. He could end his war on coal which could allow more pil to be repurposed to domestic consumer fuel. He could lower the corporate tax rate (we have the highest in the developed world). And that's just a few things off the top of my head.

But none of these are Marxist/socialist solutions, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

But ya gotta be fair, no GOP president had the gonads to do the things you stated. Bush had a golden chance from 2001 to 2006 when the Repubs controlled both houses of Congress.

The truth is no GOP President in the 20th or 21st century has ever had enough of a majority of even Republicans, never mind true conservative Republicans to overcome the procedural barriers that the Democrats placed in their path.

Why were there more GOP presidents than Dem presidents in the last 60 years, but always Dem majorities? I don't get it.

A couple of facts lie at the heart of that question; 1. A majority of American voters are completely ignorant of even the basics of government, law, how things work on the Hill and even who their elected reps are... and 2. They are notoriously ill informed thanks to the traitorous MSM.

That said, I believe that many, probably a significant majority if truth be told, Americans believe that such configurations were best to balance the power of government.

Alas... they are sadly mistaken about that.
