4 seats picked up in the House so far. Of course, we're just doing the east coast at this point.

Re: 2010 Mid-Term Elections
GOP takes House! Net gain of 60 seats so far. That beats the 54 they took in 1994.

Bachmann To MSNBC's Matthews: That Thrill Isn't Tingly Anymore
A combative Chris Matthews accuses Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) of being "hypnotized" and under a "trance."
Bachmann says we're out of this "nightmare" and "we're thrilled."
"I think people are thrilling tonight, I imagine that thrill is maybe not quite so tingly on your leg anymore, I'm not sure anymore," Rep. Bachmann told Matthews.
After the interview, a purple-faced Matthews said "I never used that word" and called Bachmann a moron.

Chris used that word TWICE to describe how Obama affected him... the real moron here is Matthews...
And you are right, you would never hear a news person at Fox News ever use the word "moron" to describe any politician, no matter how well deserved it would be.

It's sour grapes. Even when the GOP got trounced in 2006 and 2008, you never heard that shit. But you know the same old line..... "They all do it."

Democrats brace for huge GOP gains in Texas House
Associated Press/Austin American Statesman
Texas Democrats were bracing for a bloodbath in the Texas House, where Republicans could pick up 20 or more seats and were threatening incumbents who weren't considered vulnerable before Tuesday night. Even the leader of the House Democrats, Rep. Jim Dunnam of Waco, was trailing in a race that was too close to call. "It's shaping up to be an awful night," said Democratic consultant Jeff Crosby. "Clearly independent voters swung heavily to the Republicans tonight, leaving Democrats with only their base to depend on. In that environment, they were just easy pickins."

Yeah, I know. Even though the record is clearly there, the left still buys the propaganda.

Not here in Minn. People here haven't learned their lesson yet. We'll have to go by way of California first.

GOP already controlled the legislature there. This is just huge gains. The Dem voters there might as well move here to Minnesota.

GOP takes control of NC state Legislature for the FIRST time in 100 YEARS
WRAL TV
RALEIGH, N.C. — Riding a nationwide wave of voter discontent, state Republican leaders said Tuesday that the party had seized control of the state General Assembly for the first time in more than a century. Many races remained too close to call late Tuesday, but GOP Chairman Tom Fetzer predicted that Republicans would pick up 14 to 16 House seats and 10 Senate seats. That would give the party 66 to 68 seats in the 120-member House and 30 seats in the 50-member Senate. The GOP last had a majority in the state Senate in 1898.

Haley Becomes South Carolina's 1st Woman Governor
Associated Press
Voters have elected South Carolina's first woman governor.
Tea-party backed Republican state Rep. Nikki Haley will also become the nation's second Indian-American governor when she replaces term-limited Gov. Mark Sanford. Louisiana's Bobby Jindal also is Indian-American.
She is the first American raised as a Sikh to hold the office of governor.
Haley won over state Sen. Vincent Sheheen in a contest that flipped between the candidates by the minute Tuesday night.
Haley is a three-term House member who campaigned as a political outsider and earned the backing of Sarah Palin.
The 38-year-old married mother of two beat back unproven accusations of infidelty and questions about her finances and experience.
Sheheen made the contest closer than anyone expected.
