I'm talking to you Superior Pics! Since I was just in another thread talking about the Miley controversy, it reminded me of some more paparazzi pictures that made it to various forums today. It was another female Disney person (to protect her identity, I will just call her Sonny) who was photographed on the beach in a bikini. While that is all well and good, one picture in particular was of her bare butt. And I hate to break it to them, but that forum has a "no nudity" clause. Well, in my book bare butt is nudity. And oh by the way, the person in question is only a few months older than Miley. Now in fairness, I saw the very same pictures at other forums. But only Superior Pics has that particular rule - and yet, they see no problem in breaking it when it suits them. Talk about your hypocrisy.

Someone will make an excuse for it over there, making your vent null and void. It's the usual. I have plenty of gripes there. Matt has also. It's the holier-than-thou attitude that some people have when someone asks a legit question, for instance. Matt might be able to expound on that some more.

I guess my 2000 posts there put me at just below pond-scum in the eyes of the moderators. No wonder they won't ever answer my forum concerns. And half of my 2000 posts are either me kissing Miley's butt and Britney's butt or arguing with Tex in the politics section.

SP's hypocrisy is at it again. And this time Miley is the culprit. Yesterday the Much Music awards happened and while what was shown on television was lame, the still photographs from her two performances are making the rounds at celebrity forums. And let's just say, some of the pictures are something else. Now, I love Miley and I'm not going to comment either way (yet) about the performance or the pictures. But let's just say that a few of them probably shouldn't have been posted at SP. But they were. So.

Yeah, standards apply to the heavy posters but not the occasional poster. If you upload tons of movie/video, you're a-ok.

I cruised the pic section on Saturday and after an hour, i only saved one pic from all that stuff. Just goes to show (to me at least) that the quality of posts has really dropped in the last 2 or 3 years.

Politics tends to do that sometimes.

It's why sometimes i (and others) have to step back and take a breath. At times, politics bores me because of lack of things happening or at times an issue can be so hot that nobody is going to budge on their view of whatever the subject is. The Israeli/Gaza flareup comes to mind.

Also, it's why i created different sections here. It gets us away from the dodgy issues and shows that even with people we disagree with are human in other areas.

Politics tends to do that sometimes.

It's why sometimes i (and others) have to step back and take a breath. At times, politics bores me because of lack of things happening or at times an issue can be so hot that nobody is going to budge on their view of whatever the subject is. The Israeli/Gaza flareup comes to mind.

Also, it's why i created different sections here. It gets us away from the dodgy issues and shows that even with people we disagree with are human in other areas.

And we thank you for it. And really, I blew a fuse earlier at SP earlier and vented in here and I apologize for it. My message in here before I deleted it said that someone posted something that peed me off several days ago, and I had to bite my tongue. But today there was another post and I just blew a fuse. So that's all it was. Because it's an on-going confrontation, I've really cut back on my posts at SP. But I obviously still go there all the time for pictures and stuff. And of course I look in on the politics section... I shouldn't do that.

Anyway a moment ago I vented at SP again, but this time I used the "notify moderator" button. And I must say, I feel better for it. I wouldn't be surprised if I get banned either, because I basically said the moderators in there were sh*t. But I felt that it needed to be said. Like I said, I feel better now.

So again Tex, I have to thank you for this place. I mean, we obviously disagree on a lot of things, but in here we can actually discuss things without going bananas. Plus as you said, with the other sections we can discuss other things.

It sometimes amazes even me how words on a screen can enrage people (myself included). I can read some of the most partisan articles on the 'net and don't get even close to being pissed off. But when i read some stuff in political forums or reader's opinions of a newspaper column, i can get as red as the next guy.

My old mod left here on his own accord because he didn't like debating my closed one-track mind.
In all seriousness, it's not my mind that's closed. It's nothing but a battle of wills and ideology. That's all. But even then, posters can put up facts and it won't matter even at that.

But i saw your blowup at Dbl over there after you ranted here. What he said wasn't really off the pale as far as i was concerned. He was venting his opinion sprinkled with facts. Some of the things he said about the president are truthful and factual. My only disagreement with what he said was i won''t go so far as to call Bama a Marxist. But i won't even call him a socialist straight out. To me, a true socialist is Hugo and Fidel. He has socialist tendencies in the European sense.... Social Democracy. But many Europeans will say he's not even close to what they have. They may be right. But by our standards, he is.... well... as far as conservatives are concerned.

It's easy to get out of control when debating. It's probably what i'll find hard if this forum ever gets more members and debates are more common. At those times, i'll just have to step back and be quiet. lol

I agree. Words are just that - words. I could have let it go, and as I said I probably should have. But this particular gripe has been building for a few days and today's post just blew my mind and I responded. And really, it's not what he said that peed me off. I'm used to that. What gets me is the way he says things - and in fairness, a few people in there are similar. I don't like "I'm right. You're wrong. The end." That never gets anywhere. And yeah, he did have some facts, but IMO they were irrelevant, while the non-facts he was saying were outright lies. And my response was more of a reflection of that. Anyway, I've said my piece in there, along with giving the moderator a piece of my mind. Maybe it'll blow over? Maybe not? As I said, I probably shouldn't have even responded in the first place. But at least it gave me a chance to tell off a moderator in there. I've wanted to do that for a while.

Yeah, DBL can get pretty huffy when he has a strong opinion. He's been out of the loop for several months now with not much computer access. so, i'm sure he has lots building up.

I quit posting there myself. It's become a pit over there. Moon is a decent mod but he's powerless to do many things that other mods over there can. Did you know he can't ban anyone? Nope. Another mod has to do that. If i was him, i'd say *^%@ you and give up his mod status.

That site is a picture site. That politics section will never be anything more than what it is.

Now that I've had some time to think about it, I think some of my gripe over there were leftovers of what I said at the beginning of this very thread - about the Demi Lovato butt pictures from about two weeks ago and the Miley stuff from a few days ago... I think I was (unintentionally, of course) waiting for a reason to have a meltdown in there (specifically to the moderators) and today's stuff gave me an excuse. But hey, whatever. It's done. And really, what's the worst they can do? I mean I do like the forum for the pictures and video stuff. IMO, that's what made the forum great. As long as they have that stuff there, then I'll be okay.

But having said all of that, I've also noticed a big increase in the amount of "my celebrity is better than your celebrity" bickering in there. Hell, I was even in one of those a while ago, and it's just stupid. But some people are just like that - including me sometimes.

When i troll for pix over there, i hardly ever read the comments. I grab the images and off to the next one.

But i did make an exception for a post of Sarah Palin.... only to see how many can't leave their politics at the door. Some can't. One day, i saw about 5 bad comments about her in a pic thread and i reported each one of them. I checked back about 2 or 3 days later (i forgot about it initially) and those posts were still there. My whole point with that was pointing out the hypocrisy to myself. I really didn't care what those people said about Palin and i wasn't going to get involved because i'm not sold on her to start with.

Why don't i read comments? I get tired of i'd smell her feet or i'd do her and all that shit. Why waste the bandwidth? They really should have thank you buttons there. We have them here but i have it disabled because it's pointless here... so far.

Yeah, I joined another celebrity forum about two months ago that does have a "thank you" button. On the one hand, I love it because it gives me an easy way to say "thank you". But at the same time, it's made it too easy. I've only made like twenty actual posts in there but I've hit the button about a hundred times. Methinks some people might not appreciate that.

And I totally agree about the off-color stuff. Of course, a lot of it is funny as hell. But a lot of it is really tasteless and pathetic and we don't really need to have that much information. But again methinks that's part of what forums like that actually want. But to me it's pointless.

Personally I thought it was funny. Arguably, dblboggie was trolling. What he said was out of order as well as factually incorrect. How can he expect not to get a rise when he attacked Obama as a Marxist, sneered at Europe and "Social Democracy" and then flew off into a rant? I don't know what he is smoking while he is away but every time he comes back he is that little bit more paranoid than before.

I agree. I can't stand Palin and I'm probably one of her most vocal opponents on the Politics subforum. There is a good reason I bolded that, because picture threads are no place for debate about a person's beliefs.

I took issue not with what he said, but how he said it. It was almost as if he'd said it with a sneer "those quaint, backward Europeans with their inferior ways". I almost felt like posting the music video "America... Fuck Yeah!" from Team America: World Police but I guess it would have been deleted.
