Either way, it really is pissing me off. It's like being on dial-up again. I have a download speed of 200 kbps and an upload speed of 172 kbps.
holy crap! that does suck... those are dial-up speeds...
Man, I'm tellin' ya. It's really bad. It's bad enough that I'm probably just going to get off of here in a little while.

Yeah. I have cable TV as part of my utilities (rent). It's not an option for me at this time as such.

About the same. But my cable TV is included in my rent. If I want it, I have to pay more. I already pay for my DSL with my phone. I have good luck with it normally, so I'm not changing it at this time.
My upload speed is higher than down speed at this moment. Go figure.

My internet is back to normal (and I've been gone all day).
I'm happy with what I have at the moment but I may go to cellular pone in due time. I prefer to get a full time job first.
Btw, I filled an online application for 3M this past Saturday night. They're hiring at the plant 40 minutes way from me. One guy I used to work with at the printing plant got lucky and got a job there. He says he know of nobody that makes less than $19 an hour. I hope I get an interview (and the job itself).

They need to join first. But I wish they would. We have several lurkers from around the globe.... in places one wouldn't even believe!
I had to get off of here last night. It was so frustrating with a slow connection.

Yeah, I was having dial-up flashbacks. I never got onto DSL till 2007.

i can remember the nightmare of using a 300 baud modem... i worked from home from about 1997... when cable internet became available in my neighborhood i was the first one to get it installed... i'd been on 28.8k modem i think... and even that was torture...

My uncle's mother-in-law just went from 28k dial-up to high speed satellite. I can't imagine 28k even when I was on 56.
