Newt Gingrich Will Fight The Media That Has Him In Its Sights

Given the self-destructive tendencies of the Republican presidential primary "front-runners," not many who are paying attention are shocked or surprised that Newt Gingrich has risen back to the top of the pack. The obvious question being how long can he stay there?

What Mr. Gingrich understands better than any is that now it is his turn to be the GOP duck in the mainstream media shooting gallery. If anything, the compromised and unethical members of the Fourth Estate will go after him harder than they did Bachmann, Perry or Cain.

Why? Because he has dared to call them out for their liberal bias and simplistic and inane questions during the debates.

Not only is Gingrich right to take on the mainstream media but many conservatives are taking note of the tactic and are rallying to his cause. As well they should.

Any Republican who thinks this election is over and that Mr. Obama is destined to lose, is grossly underestimating not only the resources attached to the office of the president, but the record amounts of money he will spend as he travels the low-road in desperate search of a second term.

More than all of that however, the president knows that he has something in his back pocket that the Republican nominee can never have and never match — that being the unethical loyalty and services of countless "journalists" across the country.

With that record amount of money the Obama campaign intends to spend to smear the GOP nominee combined with the major assist from many in the liberal media, we are talking about the equivalent of well over one billion dollars at the disposal of the Democrat machine.

Newt Gingrich gets that. Just as he knows the demise of the power of the mainstream media has been greatly exaggerated. Gingrich understands that Americans have to work harder and harder to not only take care of themselves and their families, but support the various freeloaders the Democrats enable in search of easy votes.

As such, they simply don't have the time to go to their favorite websites, blogs or conservative talk shows to always get honest reporting or facts.

If one buys into that argument, then it's not a stretch to estimate that upwards of 80% of the American people still get about 80% of their "news" from the mainstream media. Gingrich at least understands that it's critical to call them on their bias as often and as loudly as possible.

That no doubt is one reason he has risen in the polls and is the subject of more and more conversations.

Another reason is that he is not afraid to step into the arena, articulate his vision and aggressively defend his positions.

Contrast that confidence and style with say, Mitt Romney, and you begin to understand why Team Obama is hoping that they face the former Massachusetts governor in the general election.

Mr. Romney and his team (when not mysteriously eradicating Romney administration emails according to the Boston Globe) have decided that ducking the Sunday talk shows and all tough interviews is the best strategy for them. It may well be, but aren't we entitled to candidates who are eager to vigorously lay out their views while stripping the bark off the Democrats?

Newt may in fact be the next duck in line for the liberal media firing squad. But guess what? He not only knows how to shoot back, but relishes the challenge. It should be a very telling next couple of weeks.

It's refreshing to see an article that actually points out the tremendous advantage Democrats have by having the MSM in their back pockets. This an enormous force multiplier for Obama's campaign funds.

It's even better to hear that Newt is not only aware of this fact, but is willing to call them out on it.

Should be an interesting next couple of weeks indeed!

Yeah, Newt is pulling no punches. He's going to call out all the BS as it comes down the pike.

I'd like to see a Dem debate on Fox News sometime in the future. That way, they can see how it feels.

Yeah, Newt is pulling no punches. He's going to call out all the BS as it comes down the pike.

Yeah, let's see them win an away game for once instead of getting softballs from liberal media, but they choose to avoid Fox like the plague.
